Peaches and Crème Cotton Yarn
Material: 100% Cotton
Yardage: 120 yd skeins or 706 yd cones
Final Verdict: 4/5
Peaches and Crème Cotton is one of those ubiquitous yarns you end up with in your stash because it’s everywhere. It’s an inexpensive, worsted weight cotton yarn that comes in a wide variety of colors and stripes. You can find it in 120 yard skeins and 700 yard cones for big projects. It’s fairly easy to work with but ends up being pretty boring.
This yarn is fairly soft in the way that cotton underwear is soft. It’s just, normal, but it’s very sturdy which makes it great for knitting or crocheting up washcloths, baby stuffies, and other things that see a lot of wear. It comes in a variety of colors, in various shades and even stripes but they all suffer from the same exact issue. None of them are very bold so everything looks like baby wear.
The major problem with this yarn when it comes to looks is that its pretty bland. It’s great for making light weight baby things (100% cotton so it’s washable) but when it comes to adult garments, it looks sort of like you’re just wearing a washcloth. Which really brought down the points for this one.
This yarn is pretty easy to work making it great for beginners. There’s very little slip to it and splitting is not generally a problem. The texture makes is really easy to hold and work with so if you’re trying to get a handle on how to do these things, this is a good starting place.
The biggest issue with this yarn is that there is no give. This isn’t really a problem as that’s just the way cotton is in general, it is not a stretchy fabric. It may be hard to work with if you tend to make tighter stitches.
This yarn can be very boring but as a general multipurpose yarn, it’s great. The wide variety of colors make it a solid go to for many projects and the low price means that even for large jobs, you won’t be breaking the bank. A nice, basic yarn.
