Boutique Unforgettable is a roving type of yarn. It’s 100% acrylic and but with its bright colors and a super soft feel, it’s hard not to want to use this in every project ever. It’s one of the more expensive yarns at a little over $6 a skein but it does have a more luxurious feel without breaking the bank.

This yarn is very eye catching. It’s hard not to notice the bold, rich colors, even from down an aisle! There are 15 available colorways that run the gamut from warm to cool shades and all of them have the same level of vibrancy. The first reason I didn’t give it a perfect score lies with the color choices. Although they all are very lovely, they don’t have any solid colors available. So you’re stuck with stripes.

I tried it with Tunisian crochet, normal crochet, and a bit of knitting. All three looked very nice, the colors stripped very well with smooth transitions. In the Tunisian project the stitches looked especially stunning and textured with this yarn.

Being a roving type of yarn, it is very soft. It feels lovely. No irritation at all. However, it lost a little bit of points here as well because it does tend to tuft up here and there.

This is not an easy yarn at all. It’s very slippery to work with (use wooden tools!) and splits like nobody’s business. Despite being weighted at a “4” it’s pretty thin feeling once you get to using it and tension is a little tricky to maintain.

Generally there are no problems in the yarn itself (knots, tangles, etc) but every now and then you’ll find those tufts throughout the yarn that must be carefully picked off. Also in some places the yarn is not as tightly wound.

Final Thoughts

This yarn is super pretty and feels so very nice however, it’s not for beginners. You can knit or crochet quickly with it but you must be careful. Despite the difficulty of working with it, it’s still a pretty solid yarn and the end results are worth it, in my opinion.
